Slice of Saturday Night

THE SETTING

A Slice of Saturday Night is a fun Musical based around a group of 17 year olds in a Night Club in London, England in 1964, give or take a few years.

The Club is called Club a GoGo  and all the action takes place on one Saturday Night.

All the scene changes within the play take part within the club such as the actual club, the cloakroom and the toilets.

CHARACTERS

Gary:
Good looking, hunky, a bit chauvinistic. Ladies are a trophy to him and he thinks he is God's gift to women. He is the Leader of the group and likes to act tough but in reality he is a bit of a coward.

Rick:
Innocent, shy and the beautiful one of the group. He is quite engaging and not boring. Rick is trying to be like Gary but not quite getting it right. It touches on his dress sense.

Eddie: A real pill popping goon ball. He appears to be stupid but there is more to him that meets the eye.

                                                      Sue:
Is Gary's long suffering Girlfriend. She adores Gary. She is slightly overweight with a large bust and has a low opinion of herself and is insecure. She is constantly putting on a brave face and holding back the tears.

Sharon:
Is a female equivalent of Rick. She is like the girl next door and comes across sweet and innocent but has had a lot of experience. She is sweet and shy and pretty.

Penny:
Is the easy girl of the club and much more sexier and more knowing than the others. She is attractive in a brassy way and quite popular.

Bridget:
Is called Frigid Bridget. She talks the talk but doesn't necessarily walk the walk. She is the Leader of the girls and thinks herself a cut above the others.

Shirl:
(A smaller character) She goes with the flow and fits in with the others.

Eric:
(The Narrator of the show)
Is the Bouncer and it is his Club. He oversees everything that goes on and has a soft spot for all the teenagers.
*For this show the character of Eric will be played by a female and possibly be played by 2 different people within the same show*

Chorus:
*For this show the year 1's (about 20 people) will help back the cast and probably be wearing black but could possibly also wear a hat and a scarf of the era*

The Band:
There is a band of 4 possibly 5
